The Big Day - Day 17

There is excitement in the air as we woke up this morning... today's the day for the long awaited Vow Renewal.  Sammy is buzzing around, eager to find out every final detail and time to expect throughout the day.

The dog woke up around 7:00 am which is when I found the kids in the living room, huge grins on their faces.  We walked down for Starbucks and talked through the plan for the day and what to expect.

When we returned I headed out on the balcony for my devotions where I found Pastor Todd doing his sermon prep.  I really cherished my time today and jotted lots of notes that seemed especially fitting to what I've been thinking / praying about lately.  I love quiet times like that.   I went in to finish Bible with the kids, booked a limo for tonight and then took a shower.

It was close to 10:00 am by the time everyone was up and we sat down to breakfast... scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, fruit, cereal... wow!  Thanks Scott.  After the dishes were cleared, we talked through the ceremony with Pastor Todd and made a plan for the night.

Since it was the first time the Schmidts could see the property and the ocean in the day, we decided to take a walk on the beach.  Sammy played in the waves and looked for shells with Scott.  Tyler and Todd had a great talk as they led the way.   And Annie and I walked Coco from the back.

Sammy wanted to swim in the pool for a while when we got back so everyone stayed down there while I brought Coco up to start lunch.  We sat down again to eat Tacos and go over the details of the day.

The afternoon was pretty short... I polished Sammy's nails and then headed right over for our hair appointment at 2:30 pm.  I was so proud of my girl as she waited for her turn even after a 30 minute delay.  When I turned over to see her hair for the first time, I got all choked up.  She looked simply beautiful and so grown up.  Where, or where did my little baby go?

Scott and Tyler ran and got a haircut and picked up the flowers before picking us up after our appointment.  The Schmidts took a walk on the beach and pier and got some Starbucks.

We got back to the condo with less than 40 minutes to get ready for the ceremony.  I really appreciated Annie's willingness to step in and help prep everyone.

And then FINALLY... we were ready!
