Day 3 - Repositioning

We were up around 8:30am and called valet to bring our car around.  We waited for quite a while until a nice employee noticed we were waiting and jumped us to the front of the line.  Then we were off to a Tesla charger a little bit west of our hotel.  After about 40 mins of charging, we got under way.  The car navigation system rerouted us to the bridge at Buffalo so we stayed in Canada just a little bit longer before crossing over into the States.

We needed to charge twice on the route to Boston.  The first was a stop at a casino.  They had lots of restaurant options and thought it would be fun to check it out.  Unfortunately New York has a 21 age limit on the casino floor and all of the restaurants were past security.  So, I went in and called the kids with lunch options and ordered it all to go.  We ate in the parking lot and then got back on the road.

The second stop was at a huge mall with a dedicated highway exit and three levels.  The place was really impressive.  We ran inside for a snack and bathroom break. When it was time to get back on the road, I moved into the driver's seat and gave Tyler a much needed break.  He has driven the entire way so far!

The route into Boston was smooth but got more congested as we approached.  It was getting dark so the lighting and quick lane changes were rough but Tyler was a huge help from the passenger seat, calling out my next turn and helping me find the right exits.

We arrived at our hotel in downtown Boston at 7:30 pm.  It's a great location in the middle of the Freedom Trail with suites available so we have a room with two rooms and a nice kitchenette.  We got settled into our room and ordered UberEats for me.  Then we spent the remainder of the night watching videos and playing games.

It was a great day!  But I'm glad the longest drive day of the trip is over.
