Tomorrow we leave on our summer boat trip. Up until a few days ago, we weren’t sure that we were going. But after the decision was finalized, we have been all in to make plans, make reservations, and make food to prepare for our travels.
With boating, things never go to plan. But even so, we have a plan.
Head north from Grand Haven on July 5th. We love the 4th of July fireworks and want to enjoy the day with friends before we head out. The plan is to circumvent Lake Michigan. Up to Mackinac Island, over to Beaver Island, a few days in the UP, then a few in Door County, WI. At that point we’ll be almost to Milwaukee where we’ll decide whether to cut across the Lake and come home or finish going around the southern tip. At this point, we hope to cut across because of a trip later this year to Chicago, but we’ll have to wait and see how we are feeling next week I suppose.
We are packed and ready for an adventure!
