When we got back from the walk, we decided to just hang out inside today and take it easy because the weather looked pretty gray. I had some laundry to do so I ran in to get my hamper when I saw our sweet puppy CHEWING on my new Invisalign trays. Ugh... so frustrating (and yet kind of funny).
Our plans to stay in changed around 10 am when the clouds cleared and the sun came out. It was a glorious sight! We quickly changed plans (and our clothes) and headed to the beach. It was lots of fun to soak up the warmth of the sun and enjoy the waves.
We took turns staying on shore with the dog so even Mom got a chance to go in the water.
We stayed a few hours before deciding it was time for lunch and headed upstairs for showers. After getting cleaned up we headed out for some lunch and errands. Kids requested McDonalds, I stopped for JimmyZ, and then visited Pet Smart to find something to address the mats in the dogs paws.
By grabbed a few groceries and a snack and then headed home around 3:00 pm. Sammy and I had hoped to visit the waterpark again but by the time I left the grocery store, it was down pouring.
The weather today was 86* but the scattered showers left it muggy and pretty uncomfortable.
No problem though, we decided to head upstairs for some more Lego's. After a short time the rain cleared again and I sat on the balcony for an extended stretch to do my devotions. I cannot imagine a more peaceful space for my quiet time.
After that, we did Bible together and then decided to do a movie night and supper on our own.
First up How to Train Your Dragon (Tyler's choice) followed by Robots (Sammy's choice). Then there was a brief pause to give the dog a bath.
The kids called Scott while I took Coco out for her last walk and then it was tuck in time.
Its been a wonderful trip so far... but it was so good to have the sun today!
Crazy story... I was outside with the dog for a potty break. I was standing under 3 palm trees, the kids were nearby. I heard some rustling in the trees above me and assumed it was the birds overhead. All of a sudden a LARGE rock landed at my feet... literally missing me by inches. I immediately told the kids how dangerous it was to throw rocks only to realize they had not done it. I still cannot figure what happened or how that rock got in the tree but I'm so grateful it landed where it did.
