Finally Settled - Day 4

Since we were both already up, Sammy and I took Coco for a walk and found ourselves at Starbucks. She ran in to fill our orders, while I waited outside.

Once Tyler was up we ran some errands and then made lunch.

We finished up Bible and took a short rest time in the condo before switching into our suits to head down to the beach.  Just before we left, my bedroom door got locked from the inside so I just stayed in my clothes to save time.

We walked further down the beach just past Apache pier.  The water there is a bit shallower so the kids feel more independent as they are allowed to go out farther ;)  They played in the water, dug holes, headed back in the water, etc.

Coco and I enjoyed the sun and walked the shore.  The dog absolutely LOVES the waves and runs back and forth from the water.  Its hilarious to watch her.

When it was time to head in we all pitched in and made it all the way to the boardwalk when we realized we had left two pair of shoes behind.  So Tyler valiantly went back for them while Sammy and I cleaned up the rest of the gear at the showers.

As I sent the kids to shower, I took advantage of the quiet time to figure out my door.  I used a paperclip like I would at home but the jimmied hole should have been my first clue.  The inside of the lock was lose and moved too much for my single paperclip and since I had no more in my arsenal, I decided to fold it in half and double the strength.  CLICK.  Yes, I'm in!  But as the door unclocked, the paperclip slipped past the lock and my doubled-over part went inside the hole.  Without thinking, I jerked on the single remaining end and curled the other end right over INSIDE the lock.  Oops.  Boy was I frustrated!  But not nearly as much as I would be... moments later when I closed the door and realized somehow it was locked again!  Grr.  Good news is the key is permanently stuck in the door so I don't have to worry about being locked out.  Bad news is I had to send a photo to Scott to request he bring tools to fix it.  I hate being such a girl sometimes!  And now I have this reminder every day until he gets here.

After I calmed down from the lock incident, I made tacos for supper and we all enjoyed watching Disney shows til it was time to FaceTime with Dad.
