Day 2 - Bon Voyage!

We didn't leave for the ship until 11:30 am so we had most of the morning to explore.  The kids and I ran down to Starbucks for a drink while Scott took a shower.  We walked down to the beach and met a new friend!  There were lots of iguanas on site and this was the first (and smallest) of many!!

We packed up our luggage so it was ready for the pick up and then headed to the breakfast buffet.  It offered a great selection and both kids ate well!

Afterwards we headed down to the beach for a few hours.  We swam to a diving raft out in the lagoon and the kids played in the sand.  After observing a few more iguanas and learning lots of new facts about them, we headed up to get changed.

The transfer to the pier was very quick and smooth.  The bus ride was less than 10 minutes.  Then we waited in line for security, paperwork, etc.  By the time we were through, the boat was ready so we walked right on!

Sammy was just giddy to meet goofy as we boarded!

We asked permission to drop out stroller off in our stateroom early.  A staff member literally carried it down the stairs and escorted us to our room (Wow Disney service is top notch!).  The room is amazing!  Two separate sleeping rooms, 2.5 baths, living room and dining room.  It's absolutely perfect.

I attended a quick meeting with our concierge where we talked through some concerns I had with how autism might affect a few of our scheduled activities.  Ricardo was a HUGE help and we worked out all the details!

Of course by then the kids were itching to hit the pool, so we headed upstairs.

So much fun!

We had a snack (unlimited ice cream, 24-hrs a day?) and then headed back to our room to prep for the muster drill.

Once the alarm sounded, we made our way down four floors and checked in.  Because our station was outdoors, it was hot and very crowded.  The station leader offered for us to take Sammy inside to another quieter, cooler location while we waited.  Perfect!

We played a few rounds of Uno and received several deliveries... A fruit bowl as a welcome gift, some movie rentals and popcorn from the concierge and our preferred beverages (chocolate milk) to stock our fridge.

Soon it was time for dinner so we headed to the dining room.  Although there is a great selection on the children's menu, there wasn't a single item Sammy would eat.  Our amazing waiter Silvo, order a pizza from room service and served her pizza and fries.  "We will make it work... I can special order all week!"  If ever there is any doubt about whether or not the additional expense for Disney is with it, I can assure you it is!

After dinner we went to the show and had front row seats!  Sammy thrilled at the sight of Mickey and Minnie.  Tyler LOVED the magician.  I literally held Sammy back in her seat when the sparklers and bubbles began in the grand finale!  There were smiles all around.

We ran to the Disney store to grab a few items and then it was time to sleep!  It was just after 10 when we tucked the kids in bed.

It was an amazing day but we cannot wait for tomorrow!
