I didn't realize when we planned this trip that we would be in NYC on September 11. The 9/11 Museum itself was closed today for an event with the families of victims. It was pretty sobering to watch the coverage of the anniversary. We will visit the Memorial and Museum later this weekend.

We woke up this morning and headed right out for Krispy Kreme donuts from Times Square. Then we headed north to grab a subway up to the Natural History Museum.
We spent most of the day year and enjoyed the exhibits, taking in a show at the planetarium. This is the museum that Night at the Museum is based on so we also made a scavenger hunt to find the various exhibits depicted in the film. It was a fun day indeed.
After we wrapped up it was too late to visit our next museum so we decided to head back to the room for a rest. Ironically, when asked, the kids decided to stay in tonight. I think the pace of vacation and all the steps is starting to catch up. No worries though, we had a pizza delivered from Joe's Pizza and just took it easy. Tyler had to work tonight and Sammy assembled a Lego set we brought along so it was a good night too! Loved the extra time in our comfy clothes (and have our feet up).
Tomorrow morning Scott flies in! The next three days are going to be busy :)
