Day 1 - Trip to Ludington

We were out the door by 9:00 am, stopped for breakfast on the go and were arriving at our slip by 10:00a.  The weather is looking promising all the way to Ludington, so we are excited!

They were running the fog horn again so I think everyone was holding their breath while we finished that last stretch of the channel.  But no fog!  We turned that corner heading north and opened it up.  Ahh it feels good to be on our way!

We pulled into Ludington channel at 1:00 pm.  It was a smooth ride and fun to see so many familiar beaches from the lake.  The water was incredibly smooth as we passed the Silver Lake sand dunes.  We were able to stay on plane for the duration of the trip, averaging 30 mph.

We paused to watch a barge head out to the lake and then proceeded to the marina for 140 gallons of fuel before tying off at our slip for the night.
